The Original Introduction

This is the first introduction from Issue ONE of the zine, and it tells you a little about the intention behind it.

“Welcome to the inaugural edition of Darkroom. This is a project that I have wanted to start for some time, and now and again, we just have to take a leap into the dark and give in to our desires. Being locked recently has definitely got me into trouble a few times, and in a way has given me a new perspective. If there’s something you want to do, get on with it and make it happen.

I have admired creators of similar magazines to this one, and I have always fantasised about making a magazine that embodies and celebrates the obscure, the weird, the kinky. If you’re reading this, then you are one of us. We’ve always existed underground in our own world, but progressively less so, allowing ourselves to be our complete selves publicly, on show for everyone to see and learn that there’s no such thing as normal.

So, Darkroom is a visual and physical place to celebrate kinksters, and although we’re starting small, I aim to create a welcoming space for all forms of sexy people and creatives to express their desires, learn about themselves, learn to let go, and encourage us all to delve into kinks unknown.

There will be no kink shaming in this zine, no shame at all, unless you’re into that, then who’s a dirty little piggy, yes you are!”
